Gunnar are the world leader in gaming eyewear, and have been in New Zealand for short while now retailing through Playtech. If you've ever found yourself having strained eyes or headaches after long gaming sessions, you should think about investing in a pair of Gunnars.

Gunnar will have a stand at AvT Auckland LAN where you can try on a pair of gunnars and see for yourself the difference it makes both on screen and off. It's definitely worth giving these a go, as it's not often you get to trial gunnars while playing games before deciding whether or not to buy them!

Gunnar have also offered three pairs as spot prizes for this event, so if you try them out and find that you like them - you could end up winning some!

Don't worry though, if you don't win, you can get a pair from Playtech (and take advantage of the 15% discount from them!)

Check out the Gunnar website, follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook!

Thanks once again to Gunnar for their involvement with AvT Auckland LAN - You rock!

I've been considering using these myself since I'm staring at computer screens for 8 hours a day then I go home and either play games or do more computer work.

They have versions for gaming and versions for general use right?

What exactly are they supposed to prevent? I don't get headaches from looking at screens for long periods of time are there other benefits?

I thought it was supposed to help with the "dry eye" syndrome after long periods staring at a screen. I don't own a pair but I did like them when I did play with them - To me they almost made Halo look like it was running at a faster frame rate. It's kind of hard to explain unless you just try them.

They're awesome.

I do the same thing, and my eyes feel way more 'awake' after using Gunnars and working a full day.

It's pretty badass, I wanna get a pair of Phantoms from Playtech next time they're in.

Since the day of Reach's launch until WellyLAN 2011 where I sold my pair to that Irish bastard Tony. haha

Not trying to give the brand a bad name or anything like that. Was just my experience with them.
